Top Five Nitro RC Cars and Trucks for 2019

Posted by RCSuperstore on 27th Sep 2019

Thanks to advances in technology and engineering, the RChobby world is never short of high-speed innovation. In 2019, for example, RC giant Traxxas teamed up with the venerable German automotive brand Mercedes-Benz to create a faithful replica of the G500 luxury sportsutility vehicle.

While many of the new RC trucks and rock crawlers are becoming more like their full-size counterparts, there is still nothing like the sound and smell of a well-tuned nitro engine spinning at nearly 50,000 RPM. While not always for beginners, nitro is a great option for those who love to tune, tinker, and hone their mechanical skills.

At RC Superstore, we are seeing a lot of attention being paid to the five nitro Ready-to-Run (RTR) models below. They are all Traxxas, the leading brand in the nitro engine segment:

1. Revo 3.3 Nitro 4WD RC Monster Truck

Even RC purists who insist on purchasing their own kits to fully customize their vehicles are amazed by this RTR off-road beast, which features Bluetooth and telemetry technology that connects to the Traxxas Link App to deliver the ultimate in co-driving experience. The Revo allows drivers to achieve speeds of 45 miles per hour with high stability even at top acceleration. The 4.25-inch clearance means that this model is ideal for off-road racing.

2. T-Maxx 3.3 4WD

This is a more traditional monster truck design than the Revo; it features many of the advanced features, including telemetry and Bluetooth control, but it is lighter and easier to control thanks to the Traxxas Stability Management (TSM) module, which can keep the T-Maxx rolling on a straight line when you apply the brakes. The stock body of the T-Maxx resembles a standard monster truck, but it can be easily swapped.

3. Jato 3.3 2WD Truck

Nitro engines can deliver both power and speed, but when you are racing on smoother surfaces, you want pure linear acceleration, which is what this two-wheel-drive model is all about. You still get TSM, Bluetooth connectivity and mobile app access, but at higher speeds of about 65 miles per hour.

4.T-Maxx 2.5 Classic

The T-Maxx 2.5 Classic is an updated version of the #1 selling nitro monster truck of all time. While a little smaller than the T-Maxx 3.3, it’s still packed with features, including a 2-speed automatic shifting transmission. It also comes equipped with a 3-channel radio system, giving you the ability to shift from forward to reverse when you get stuck! The T-Maxx 2.5 Classic is ready for speeds of 40+MPH.

5.Nitro Slash 2WD RTR Short Course Truck

The Nitro Slash comes with everything you need to get started on nitro engines, including a maintenance kit with tools. The radio system is equipped with the TSM receiver, and the aluminum truck chassis has been designed for durability. The Nitro Slash is a fun reproduction of the popular Pro 2 race trucks.

Our Traxxas Nitro Slash is tough and ready to race, but it is also ideal for racers who are getting into nitro engines for the first time. A lot of the fun happens off-track and on the workbench as you keep this RC model in shape for the next race.
