The Ford GT40 MKIIB #98 was part of the huge victory for Ford at the 1966 Daytona 24-hour championship - made even more victorious as it proved its mettle against Ford’s famous arch-rival Ferrari. One of the 3 cars in the iconic 1-2-3 Ford finish at Daytona, the #98 was marked as a key player of that year’s race season. Drivers Ken Miles and Lloyd Ruby mastered the wheel of the #98, ultimately clutching the historic win.
The Ford FE-series 427 big-block V8 engine powered the chassis which was an exact replica of the original monocoque unibody structure used in the GT40 continuation models. The chassis was designed and manufactured for strength and stiffness. with most parts being interchangeable with an original GT40.
As with every AFX recreation, attention has been paid to the finest details.
